PantryIQ

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how JEB Studios (“we”, “us”) handles information in the mobile app PantryIQ (the “App”), a smart household pantry manager with inventory, shopping lists, recipes, and optional AI features, available on Google Play and other platforms.

Summary

PantryIQ requires an account and an internet connection to work. Your household pantry data — including inventory batches, recipes, shopping lists, and membership — is stored on secure cloud servers operated by Supabase. Optional push alerts use Firebase Cloud Messaging. Paid plans are handled through Google Play / RevenueCat. Optional AI features may send pantry-related text to an AI provider (currently OpenAI) when you request a generation. We do not display advertisements, and we do not use third-party advertising or marketing analytics SDKs. You control the pantry and household information you enter into the App.

Account information

When you create an account, we collect and store through our authentication provider:

Your sign-in session is stored on your device so you remain logged in between visits. Email confirmation may be required when you register, depending on our server settings.

Household and pantry data you provide

The App lets you create and manage one or more households (“hogares”). Data you enter is stored in our cloud database and may include:

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter. PantryIQ is intended for household food and pantry management; avoid storing sensitive personal data that is not needed for that purpose.

Household collaboration and data sharing

If you invite others to a household with an invitation code, members can view and manage that household’s inventory, recipes, and shopping lists according to their role. Household data is shared only among members of the same household, enforced by database access rules (row-level security).

Barcode scanning

You may use the device camera to scan product barcodes. Scanning runs on your device; the App stores the barcode value you associate with a product in your household data. Camera frames are used only for scanning and are not uploaded as photos to our servers.

Push notifications

On paid plans that include push alerts, and when you grant notification permission, we store a push token for your device (Firebase Cloud Messaging token), the platform (Android or iOS), and your alert preferences. We use these tokens to send expiration and low-stock alerts. You can change preferences in the App or revoke permission in your device settings. Tokens are deactivated when you sign out or disable the device in the App where supported.

Subscriptions and payments

Optional paid plans are purchased through the platform store (e.g. Google Play). Payment processing and billing details are handled by the store and by RevenueCat, which syncs your entitlement status to our backend. We store your plan tier, subscription status, provider identifiers, and period end dates — we do not receive or store your full payment card number.

AI features

If your plan includes AI generations and you request a recipe or an improved shopping list, our servers may send pantry-related text (such as product names, units, stock levels, and expiration dates you already stored) to an AI provider to generate a response. AI use is counted against your monthly quota. Do not enter information in pantry fields that you do not want processed for this purpose. AI outputs are suggestions only; you remain responsible for food safety and accuracy.

Information stored on your device

In addition to your sign-in session, the App may temporarily keep:

Uninstalling the App removes local session and cached data on the device; your cloud data remains until you request deletion.

Network use

PantryIQ requires an internet connection for core features. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) to our Supabase backend for authentication, database storage, edge functions (AI, push jobs, subscription webhooks), and synchronization across your devices.

Device permissions

Depending on your platform and plan, the App may request or use:

The App does not access your contacts, microphone, precise location, call logs, or photo library in the current version.

Third-party services

Service Purpose
Supabase Authentication, database, and edge functions
Google / Firebase Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications; Google Play for distribution and billing
RevenueCat Subscription entitlements and purchase sync
OpenAI Optional AI recipe and shopping-list generation when you request it

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy. We only send what is needed for the feature you use.

What we do not collect

We do not use advertising networks or third-party marketing analytics. We do not sell your personal information. We do not collect payment card numbers. Camera images from barcode scanning are not stored as photo uploads on our servers.

Data retention and deletion

Your account and household data are retained while your account is active. If you want to delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time. Deleting your account removes your profile and, where applicable, households you solely own, subject to our backend data policies and any legal retention requirements (for example, purchase records held by the store).

Data security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, secure authentication, and database access rules that limit each user to their own account and shared household data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and keep your device secure.

International data transfers

Your data is processed on servers operated by Supabase and other providers listed above. Depending on your location and our configuration, your information may be stored or processed outside your country. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

Children’s privacy

PantryIQ is a household pantry tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
